After the Lakers reportedly gave Bronny James “special treatment” that kept him from traveling with the G League team, the franchise has changed its course. Thursday, James will make his G League road debut when South Bay takes on the Valley Suns in Tempe, Ariz.
James’ first road trip with the G League team is an opportunity to build upon his best performance as a pro. He returned from a heel injury to score 16 points in 22 minutes of action against the San Diego Clippers in G League action on Saturday, Dec. 7.

After limited NBA action Sunday, James is back on the G League stage where he and his South Bay teammates will face the Suns G League affiliate.

James had an ultra-efficient first half for the South Bay Lakers, scoring 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting including a perfect 3-of-3 mark from 3-point range. James also added a block and an assist, committing two turnovers along the way.
While he shot 0-for-6 from beyond the arc in the second half, James piled on 17 more points without any turnovers in what would be a narrow Lakers loss. James finished an efficient 13-of-23, adding three rebounds and two assists.
